Aho Shorts Development Lab

Aho Shorts Development Lab is a collaborative initiative by Caravan Carpark Films and Ngā Aho Whakaari, designed to accelerate Māori writers, directors and producers. The wānanga-based program focuses on story, craft and industry readiness - pairing mentorship with practical development to move projects toward funding and production. Co-designed by Caravan Carpark Films and Ngā Aho Whakaari, the lab centers kaupapa Māori and builds pathways for above-the-line talent. The first edition of the Aho Shorts Development Lab was held in 2025.
