Ahi & the Stars Shines Bright at NZ Web Fest 2024
Caravan Carpark Films celebrates multiple wins and nominations at the 2024 NZ Web Fest.

Caravan Carpark Films is thrilled to announce that Ahi & the Stars took home two major honors at the 2024 NZ Web Fest, winning Best Director (NZ Short Fiction) and Best Cinematography (NZ Short Fiction). The awards were held in Tāmaki Makaurau on Sunday, 10 November 2024, celebrating the best in digital storytelling from Aotearoa and beyond.
For the Ahi & the Stars team, this recognition marks a special milestone - a reflection of both creative vision and craft. Angela Cudd received the award for Best Director and Ryan Alexander Lloyd was honored for his striking cinematography. Angela was present to accept both awards and acknowledged the team effort it takes to make a film.
Caravan Carpark Films received eight nominations across two projects - Ahi & the Stars and Lemons. The nominations were all in the NZ Short Fiction category and included:
Best Director — Angela Cudd for Ahi & the Stars (Awarded)
Best Cinematography — Ryan Alexander Lloyd for Ahi & the Stars (Awarded) and Riki Reinfield for Lemons
Best Performance — Moses Solomon-Pivac for Ahi & the Stars
Best Editing — India Fremaux for Lemons
Best Writing — Caitlin Fremaux for Lemons and Angela Cudd for Ahi & the Stars
Best Film — Orlando Stewart & Angela Cudd for Ahi & the Stars
